ADC has a long-standing partnership agreement with the European Dairy Farmers (EDF) offering a delegate exchange opportunity to explore and learn about dairy innovation and knowledge from international counterparts.
The European Dairy Farmers follows a similar philosophy to ADC as a progressive and visionary dairy farmer body looking for inspiration and offering a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge on an international level.
Recent exchanges have welcomed EDF representative and Dutch dairy farmer Annette Van Velde with husband Ad to Canberra in 2019. Annette is well known in Europe for dairy practices and involvement in EDF and Global Dairy Farmers. In 2023 we welcomed xxxx from France in 2023 to Hobart.
ADC value the partnership with EDF and send the most current Programming Chair to the European Dairy Congress every year to learn, engage and network with European dairy farmers.
In 2018, Scott Fitzgerald with wife Anna had the opportunity to attend the EDF 2018 Conference in Santiago de Compostela, Spain flying the ADC flag and making some great connections and taking away valuable learnings from our European counterparts.
Susan Wearden with husband Peter attended EDF in Kolding, Denmark in 2019 mixing with 375 delegates from 23 countries across Europe with a focus on effective communication and how to approach a rejecting society.
2023 Chair Dan Brown with wife Erin headed to Skövde, Sweden for his EDF experience meeting and rubbing shoulders with some of the most talented and forward thinking dairy farmers throughout the European Union. This was the first time since the COVID hiatus we could open back up the connection with Europe.
Since its inception, ADC has developed a reputation for being staunchly independent, meaning free from the pressures or mandates from any individual, group or sponsored entity. ADC aims to uphold integrity and independence whilst building and maintaining respect from the industry.
ADC uses its leverage and position to also commission research reports and studies to assist industry progression.
Topics and areas of study are identified by the ADC Board from an independent perspective to provide direction, profile, commentary and discussion into issues that are significantly impacting on the industry.
